Angelus Silesius

Angelus Silesius was a German Catholic priest, physician, and religious poet of the Baroque period. Born Johann Scheffler, he is best known for mystical epigrammatic verse, especially The Cherubinic Wanderer. His writings became influential in Christian mystical literature.
