Anne Hutchinson

Anne Hutchinson was an English religious reformer in colonial New England who challenged Puritan clerical authority during the Antinomian Controversy. She was tried and banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638. Hutchinson is widely cited in histories of religious liberty and women's leadership in early America.
