Growing up in my family meant ambushes on your birthday, crossbows for Christmas, and games of dodge ball where the balls were occasionally rigged to explode. It also meant learning how to work your way out of a wide variety of death traps. Failure to get loose on your own could lead to missing dinner, or worse, being forced to admit that you missed dinner because your baby sister had tied you to the couch. Again.

The glory of science is, that it is freeing the soul -- breaking the mental manacles -- getting the brain out of bondage -- giving courage to thought -- filling the world with mercy, justice, and joy.

I've been quite happy. Look, here are my proofs. Remember that I am indifferent to discomforts which would harass other folk. What do the circumstances of life matter if your dreams make you lord paramount of time and space?

Regardless of how much wealth [material pleasures] one has, if he does not like bondage even for a moment, then he has become qualified to understand the science of the Vitarags [the enlightened one's].

If the —effect' is experienced, [karmic] bondage is created. If one experiences the —effects' alone by himself, the [karmic] bondage will not be sticky. If he involves another person in it, the karmic bondage will be sticky.

Accept only as much —cleanliness' that it won't cause you to worry if it became dirty. Maintain —cleanliness' such that and only to the point that it does not burden you into bondage.

There is no means other than vitrag-science (science that frees us from all attachments) that will give Final-Liberation [Moksha]. Other means [methods, instruments] will cause bondage; they only help to pass the time; [whereas] means to attain the Eternal Thing (experience of Pure Soul) can be attained from the —Gnani Purush' (the enlightened one).

Knowledge that leads to restlessness (unsteadiness) is tremendous bondage.

Every action (—doing') causes bondage. "Doing' is not needed for Liberation. For liberation, "action' of Knowledge is required. Action of ignorance [of the self] is bondage. Action done with egoism is known as ignorant-action and the action done without egoism is known as knowledge-action.

To be under a physical bondage or a mental bondage is one of the worst situations someone could ever be in life.

Without a measure of anger against injustice, a person, a society or a whole nation would have to live perpetually under the bondage of injustice.

When someone finds his or her mind is not free or in mental bondage, such a person might as well not be free physically.

There is no one or group of people that would ever be free from bondage without making room for a change.

While in bondage, the strength of the mind is not put into full action in order to maximize its full potential.

Lord save mankind from every darkness and bondage.
