Supporting the English cricket team is like supporting a second division football team. I support Norwich City football team and when they lose I really don't mind because I expect them to; but when we win I'm so happy - much happier than any Arsenal supporter could ever be.

Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war.

Finish last in your league and they call you idiot. Finish last in medical school and they call you doctor.

Losses are always a relief. They take a great burden off me, make me feel more normal. If I win several tournaments in a row I get so confident I'm in a cloud. A loss gets me eager again.

If you can play as if it means nothing when it means everything, then you are hard to beat.

There's nothing to winning, really. That is, if you happen to be blessed with a keen eye, and agile mind, and no scruples whatsoever.

Win as if you were used to it, lose as if you enjoyed it for a change.
