In the time before Gnan (time before 1958 when Dada Bhagwan got manifested) there was obstinacy within me. —I' discovered that obstinacy does not let the light of Gnan (Eternal Knowledge) to come through. Then I saw all that obstinacy, and it was destroyed. Thereafter the Gnan (Eternal Knowledge) manifested. One has to observe one's own self that where lies the obstinacies. The Self is an observatory itself.

Stubbornness and stupidity are twins.

Obstinacy and dogmatism are the surest signs of stupidity. Is there anything more confident, resolute, disdainful, grave and serious than an ass?

Smallness of mind is the cause of stubbornness, and we do not credit readily what is beyond our view.

There are some men who turn a deaf ear to reason and good advice, and wilfully go wrong for fear of being controlled.

A man will do more for his stubbornness than for his religion or his country.

The obstinacy of human beings is exceeded only by the obstinacy of inanimate objects.
